Back to blogspace - after a rather long sojourn

Yeah yeah I know, I am regularly irregular in updating my blogs, that off-late I am not following that freaking fitness (or whatever you call it) regime and many more things. Explanations were sought and were delivered individually :)
Okay, lets talk about this "Zero Percentile" thing. No no, its not a new grading / evaluating mechanism device'd by the so called folks from B School to torment wanna-be souls. Its a book penned down by Neeraj, I know most of us haven't heard abt it/him and why should we. He does not have that IIT-IIM (followed by an Investment Banking / Top Consulting) tag to lure us, but he does manage to have that pull. The first thing that drew me towards this was - a random discount ad on some of those shopping web-pages which use the so called latest Business Intelligence methodology to peep into our minds and lure us with God-knows-what-discounted offer. The term struck a cord, an instant connect, the story of someone talking about mediocrity amidst all this hype and hoopla about SUCCESS and EXCELLENCE - woow sounds interesting with the very apt title that goes on to reads as "Missed IIT Kissed Russia".
After some frantic searches to Crossroads and College Streets I did finally managed to lay my hands on it. Its the story of Pankaj, someone aspires to be into IIT but destiny plays its part. He goes on to study engineering in Russia and see life from a completely different perspective. From the harsh (euphemistically described) weather to the college gang war, Vodka parties to gorgeous and beautiful women it talks about all. What it also highlight is the never-say-die entrepreneurial spirit of Indians and their ability to live up to that image. Somewhere down the line it also talks about distances being created and how fatal it is for any relationships. It touches upon sensitive issues like HIV-AIDS and the acceptability of a virus carrier in our society. In a whole, its a complete package of drama with a range of emotions to watch out (read - read out) for. Priced at an affordable Rs 95/- this one is highly recommended for folks who are interested in campus life and that too in a distant land. Happy Reading Guys!!!

EXAMS..my take

Exams..the five letter word supposed to be one of the worst letter in the english dictionary have different meanings for many people. I do not deny the fact that sleepless nights can become even more enjoyable(no pun intended) due to this, but then thinking of writing about this topic while I am in the midst of it and specially after writing 3 papers on a single day(ziltch exaggeration folks) gives me a sense of overwhelming nostalgia, right from my engg days. Often did I wonder that why the clock appears to run faster during the time of study and while you are in the exam hall and that same monster sleeps peacefully other time.
My experience with Exams have been as wierd as can be imagined..I get doubly hungry, I feel doubly sleepy the night before a paper early morning to attend to, I want to watch movie and news channel, listen to songs which I normally would not..making me wonder that I am also suffering from the "blame it on exam" syndrome.
But then giving it so much of importance is also not important.."after all its just an exam"- rightly said by some knowledgeable soul and then, In the end, it doesn't even matter- but in the matter it sometimes doesn't even end. While writing down my thoughts, I also watched 'Rab ne bana di jodi' and was wondering how stereotype it has been - A wife even though in love with someone else always somehow ends up going back to the husband...be it Aishwarya Rai in Hum Dil...or Anushka Sharma here..the outcome is more or less similar..perhaps its an indication given to all..Indian wives are still committed to their husbands while the vice-versa might not always be true..(Only an observation..)
With enough of Gyan for tonight, may I rest my fingers(no pen) for some other time. Till then, all the best for your exam and enjoy maddi..."Life is short, live it to fullest"

Summers

This word have a lot of meanings for anybody to decipher. However for me it presently means spending 2 months in Bangalore (best place to be in April-May-June) and enjoying the neighbourhood on weekends not to forget the "Bangaluru Crowd".
A few trips with the newly christened team "SPARKS" (courtesy CKK) to pristine destinations and with JIT boarding of trains made me wonder whether we are gonna learn the art of time management ever. But if you really wanna manage time, then a lot of concepts will go for a toss and who wanna challenge the mighty philosophical saying -
"Never wait for time, never follow it, it has never stopped for someone, not it will be for you"

On this cosy sunday afternoon when almost all my friends are busy sleeping/watching movie, I decide to address my lack of work by keying down some of my thoughts/dreams/opinions that has been with me for quite sometime now.

People who do not support any team in IPL are completely human and INDIAN.

Aryan's Law- The amount of yawning you do in the last 2 minutes of reaching Office is directly proportional to the distance between your home and office and the number of traffic signals you faced on the way to reach there. (might turn Murphy in his graves.)

I went through a blog posted by a great friend and senior of mine and couldn't stop myself from lifting a few (only few) things from there. (Who says Google is the only monster promoting copy-paste)

Never tell a man he is losing hair. He already knows (He sure does)

Never look strainght into the eyes of a girl for long if you happen to meet her for the first time.
This is a situation where the funda of "Direct Eye-Contact" can fail in you making further "Contacts with her". (Don't regret later)
Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship (Don’t)

Its perfectly okay for a B'school guy to know people in almost all other B'Schools. (Networking you see)

Spend some time alone (You will miss it once you get married)

Everyone carries an invisible placard which says "I am Important" (and so do I)

A few lines from the leaves of my book-

There are so many things in one's life that makes him think and ponder
But there are a few that he really remembers
Love, passion, mission, decisions is all we try to make
And there are some for whom success is the only take

Defining success for them would mean
Money, Career or looking "slim and lean"
For some its only about love and passion
Cause I believe they are your longest companion

Do whatever you want to, but never regret
Life is for living, not to be preserved and kept
No-one knows where life will take you along
Till then, enjoy, have fun and never think "u are wrong"

With my mother-toungue getting a space in this virtual world, couldn't stop myself from a Hindi/Urdu composition

है आरजू की तमनाओ का एक कारवां हो

उस कारवां पर महफिल होगी हमारी

कर सके फरियाद टू खुदा से पूछेंगे की

कभी आसान टू यह मुशकुइल मंजिल होगी

With only a few days left for my summer (internship) to end, I guess the realization that good things happen to good people have grown even more stronger. I do hope to continue to meet good (naah, strike off) great people who conscoiusly or sub-consciously will influence my thought process. Untill then, Aryan signs off for the next sojourn.

Myself

The greatest difficulty one encounters is not when he describes the world, but when its his turn to describe himself (or herself). Well for me, it goes like this -
Two eyes, two ears ....... too generic isn't it.
As a person, somewhat extrovert, friendly and readly to mingle, relationship status- ******** (undisclosed). Presently trying to understand the nitty-gitty of Management and learning more from the atmosphere than from the books. Uff...enough faf for a start.
